Things are ramping up in the midst of the Fall 2014 Simulcast season, so it’s a great time to jump aboard if you haven’t already! Not sure where to start? Well, we’ve got you covered.

Kotaku has released a list of The Five New Anime of Fall 2014 You Should Be Watching and two FUNimation shows made the cut: Lord Marksman and Vanadis and Rage of Bahamut. Want to know what put them on the list? We’ve got a rundown of each show to help you get started. Or, if you’re already watching, here’s a quick mid-season refresher for you!

Rage of Bahamut  rage of bahamut

Mondays, 10:30 AM EST

Currently on episode 5 of 12, Rage of Bahamut is a fast-paced adventure based on the hit digital card game, Rage of Bahamut: Genesis. The show follows boisterous bounty hunter Favaro, and the innocent yet fierce Amira as they journey across the world. Imagine Samurai Champloo meets Skyrim, and you’ve got Rage of Bahamut.

synopsis

Two thousand years ago, the black-and-silver-winged dragon, Bahamut, terrorized the magical land of Mistarcia. The humans, god, and demons that inhabited the land united forces against the fiend and sealed its power into a key which was split in two, one half protected by gods and the other protected by demons. Now, Mistarcia is a peaceful realm – until a human woman steals the god’s half of the key. Based on the immensely popular digital card game, Rage of Bahamut: Genesis is an exciting blend of action and fantasy.

Lord Marksman and Vanadis

Saturdays, 9:00 AM EST

Currently at episode 5 of 13, Lord Marksman and Vanadis tells the story of Count Tigre after being captured in battle by the beautiful knight, Ellenora. Fans of fantasy titles such as Tower of Druaga and Sands of Destruction will find a lot to love in this show. It even resonates as a blend of Fairy Tail meets Claymore — not quite as colorful as Fairy Tail, yet not as dark as Claymore. Ultimately, Lord Marksman and Vanadis seamlessly balances adventure and adventure with a touch of fanservice.

synopsis

Tigre, a young noble, is captured by a beautiful female general from an enemy country. Though enchanting, her curves aren’t the only dangerous thing about her. She’s backed by an army of desirable warrior-goddesses called the Vanadis. Can the valiant Tigre survive the action-packed blend of fantasy and fan service!?
